At the beginning of the Wax, Water, and Paper workshop, our agenda centers on exploring the artistic process and fundamental aspects of collage creation. Participants will employ vibrant paper and encaustic medium to craft two distinctive 12 x 12 inch mixed media pieces on a pre-prepared cradled wood panel, ready for display.

Next, time will be dedicated to delving into the fundamental principles of watercolor technique. Participants will immerse themselves in the watercolor process, crafting 1-2 distinct 12 x 12 inch artworks. These mixed media pieces will be skillfully composed using watercolor and encaustic medium on cradled wood panels, prepped and primed for effortless display

Finally, the focus shifts to the creation of a 14 x 14 inch masterpiece. Building upon the techniques learned in the first two days—utilizing water, paper, and wax—participants will delve deeper into encaustic mixed media. The day's exploration extends to embedding found objects into the artwork, offering a unique dimension. Additionally, there will be playful experimentation with encaustic paint and color, enhancing the expressive possibilities of the final pieces.
